Are There Any Devices Available That Will Allow My RV To Run 2 A/Cs On A 15 AMP Circuit?

by Tim
(Camrose AB)

I was wondering if there is any device you can buy to be able to run your air conditioning off a 15 amp circuit. Is there a type of step up transformer unit or am I smokin down the wrong street.

I realize you can use the air if you run nothing else, not always easy to do. Just looking for a solution to cool things down.

ANSWER Greetings Tim thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

I am not aware of any devices that can be hooked up to an RV's electrical system that will allow you run 2 A/C units as well as other 120 volt electrical appliances at the same time on a 15 amp electrical circuit. I know that I can run 1 air conditioning unit and 1 TV when my motorhome is plugged into the 15 amp circuit in my stick home. If I try to run more than that it becomes lights out time in the RV.

I am going to open this question up to our visitors and see if any of our loyal RVers out there know of such a device.
