How Do I Find Out The Value Of A Motorhome?

by Anonymous

I am RV shopping. I like the class B or smaller class C RVs. So, I read up on your site. I want to get the value of an RV I'm looking at, a 2001 Dynamax Starflyte 21', 454 Chevy engine, nicely outfitted, with 37,000 miles on it. Help!

Thanks.

ANSWER: Greetings thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

I am afraid that I will not be able to appraise the RV you are looking at. There are too many variables when it comes to appraising RVs. Mileage is not the only consideration, you have to determine what the RV comes equipped with, types of appliances, etc and that is a service that I cannot perform on this website.

I do have some suggestions for you. Since you are currently looking at RVs you may want to purchase a NADA Recreation Vehicle Appraisal Guide and carry it with you as you are looking at RVs. As you come across an RV that you are interested in you can refer to the guide and see if the asking price for the RV is priced right based on year, make, model, mileage, and how it is equipped. This is a handy tool for negotiating a price of the RV you are looking at.

The other alternative is to visit the NADA Guides Website and do individual appraisals on the RV's you are looking at. Either way it is going to cost you some money to get this information.

Which method is more economical for you depends on how many RVs you are going to look at. If you are going to be looking at quite a few different RVs then the Appraisal Guide will be more economical. If you are only interested in the one that you are currently looking at then using the on-line appraisal on the NADA Website may be more economical.

How to find out the value of Motorhome NADA guide
by: Dave and Stephanie

This was a great question and reference and it couldnt have come at a better time for us! We are looking for a 2009 SL Tiogas which are hard to find because of Fleetwood Bankruptcy. There are some 2008 but we couldn't find MSRP to compare 2008, 2009 or see if if 2010 at upcoming RV show may be close with manufacturers rebates that we think may be offered. Great find! Great resource!

Thank you

I looked on this website for the rv I mentioned, and I couldn't find it by Dynamax or by Starflyte, even spelled 2 ways. What am I doing wrong?
