I Have A Mystery Light On My Motorhome, What Is It And How Do I Turn It Off?

by Pam O'Brien
(Londonderry, NH USA)

I have a light on just outside and by the septic removal area. I thought it was for telling me that my septic was full, but now that it is empty it will not go off. Is there a reset switch that I am overlooking? This is on a 1985 Tioga Motor Home 24'.

Thank You

ANSWER: Greetings Pam thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Based on your description, the only thing I can think of is that the light you are talking about is to provide light for your sewer compartment. I assume that you looked inside your sewer compartment for any switches that might operate this light and you found none.

I am also going to assume that you have checked the dash of your RV for any switches that operate outside lights.

Of course, at this point, I am only guessing at what this light is for. I do not think the light is a warning light for the septic system of your RV.

You might want to take your motorhome to a local RV dealership and ask one of the folks there if they know anything about the mystery light.

Sorry, I don't think that I have been much help in solving this one.

I am going to open up this question to our visitors to see if any of them can enlighten us on the mysterious light on your motorhome.
