Our RV's Refrigerator Does Not Work

by Kamper
(Kentucky)

We have a 1996 Prowler Fleetwood 5th wheel RV. The gas indicator light does come on and our electrical light does come on when RV is plugged in, but the refrigerator will not cool.
Any suggestions?

ANSWER: Greetings Kamper thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Since it is not working on either propane or 120 volt electricity; my best guess is that the Refrigerator Control Board has gone bad. Unfortunately there are not a lot of user serviceable parts on RV Refrigerators.

Your best bet is to take your RV in and have an RV Technician take a look at the fridge.

I am going to open up this question to our visitors and see if they have any suggestions for you.

fridge fix
by: Anonymous

amonia fridges sometimes can be fixed by simply removing the unit and setting it upside down for 2 days. the rely on siphon type action to move refrigerant and in some cases a ;burping' will solve problems
