RV Furnace and Stove Not Working Properly

by Mike
(Southington, CT)

When we put our furnace on, the flame goes very low on our 3 burner stove. What can we do? Also, the blower is not working on the furnace. We can feel the heat, but it does not blow out. Any suggestions?

We have a '06 Flagstaff 8524CBS fifth wheel.

Thanks!

ANSWER: Greetings Mike thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

As far as the drop in propane pressure in your RV's stove when the furnace comes on, I am assuming that you are not running low on propane if this is the case then this is in all likelihood a problem with the Propane Regulator on your RV. It sounds like it is not maintaining the proper pressure under load.

You need to take your RV in and have a Certified RV Technician run some tests on your RVs regulator to confirm the problem.

As far as the furnace blower not coming on, this can be caused by several things. I am assuming that you have checked for any blown fuses. The problem could be something as simple as a loose or dirty connection to the blower motor, or a bad furnace blower motor, a bad ground, a bad blower motor control board, etc.

If you have checked for all of the simple causes of your blower motor problem and it is still not working, then you have to have the Certified RV Technician take a look at your furnace at the same time that you are having the propane system inspected.

I hope this helps.
