Where Can I Buy a Used Tow Dolly?

I want to tow my Jeep Liberty, but, don't want to tow bar or car carrier. I "think" I want a used car tow dolly.

Where could I look for one and what should I be aware of, such as tow capacity, brakes, storage, etc.

I would look at the Tow Dollies Available on eBay.

The first thing you need to do is determine that the vehicle you are going to be towing the Jeep Liberty with is rated to tow its weight plus the weight of the dolly. You also need to make sure the tow Dolly you get is rated to tow the weight of your Jeep Liberty.

For more information on weight ratings etc. when it comes to towing I would suggest that you read the article Trailer and RV Weight Demystified.

I would also strongly suggest that you buy a tow dolly that has its own braking system. If you do not get a tow dolly with brakes the braking distance of your tow vehicle will increase to the point that it may be unsafe in an emergency braking situation.
