Where Can I Get Wheels And Tires For My Travel Trailer?

by Russell
(delcambre, louisiana)

I have a 1984 17 ft. Prowler Travel Trailer it has some 13 in. star pattern 4 lug wheels I need one for a spare. Could you point me in the right direction as to find one of these dinosaurs?

ANSWER Greetings Russell thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

I am afraid the chances of you finding the exact wheels that were installed on a 1984 travel trailer are not very good. The RV manufacturers do not make the wheels that are installed on trailers. They usually buy them in bulk and install them on the travel trailers. Even trailers that were manufactured during the same model year may end up having different wheels on them.

Some wheel manufacturers stamped their information about the wheels on the wheels themselves. You may have to remove one of the wheels off of the travel trailer and look at the back of the wheels for this information. Do not be surprised if you do not find this information.

There are two other great resources for Travel trailer wheels and tires that you can look at. You may even be able to find wheels identical to or close to what you have on the Travel Trailer now. The first place I recommend is Amazon (Please Note: All the following links open in a new window so please turn off your popup blocker), they have a vast selection of Trailer Tires and Trailer Wheels. The second place you might want to look is eBay. They have a huge collection of new and used Trailer Tires and Trailer Wheels. On eBay you may even be lucky enough to find an exact wheel match that is being sold by someone.

I hope this information has been helpful to you. If any of our visitors have suggestions for you they can add them to this page by clicking on the add a comment link located near the bottom of this page.

Happy RVing
