Grilled Bacon Wraps

Grilled Bacon Wraps

Serves 6, 2 per serving

Ingredients:


12 slices bacon
3 large bananas
½ cup maple syrup
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon chili power

12 toothpicks
oil for grill

Directions:

1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.

2. Peel bananas and slice into 2 inch chunks, or 4 slices per banana, and mix the maple syrup and spices into a small bowl.

3. Place bacon on a paper towel and cover bacon with a paper towel on a micro-safe dish. Cook 1 minute on high in the microwave. Bacon should be pliable and not crisp. Remove.

4. Roll one piece of bacon around one 2 inch slice of banana, and secure with a toothpick. Repeat.

5. Lightly oil grill grate, and dip bacon wrap in syrup mixture, place on grill 1-2 minutes per side, turning occasionally until browned. Serve hot.

Don't have a microwave? Cook bacon until pliable, and place on a paper towel to removed excess grease. Continue the recipe at number four.
