Has Anyone Had This Problem With Their Georgie Boy Cruise Master Motorhome?

by Bud Foster
(Fort Walton Beach, Florida)

I have a 1996 33' Cruise Master with no slides and 25600 miles. On turns or rough roads, there is a loud cracking/popping sound coming from the top left front corner of the coach above and to the front and left of the driver. It sounds like a weld might have broken. I took it to Carpenter's Campers in Pensacola, Florida. They inspected it and reported as follows:

"Removed cabinetry driver’s side upper area - no fault found. Believe noise is coming from a lower area and resonating. Problem appears to be entire front end moving - dash was originally foamed in and has come un-attached. Cannot be fixed here."

(Incidentally, Carpenter's did not charge me for their efforts, which must have taken several hours)

I then contacted Coachmen, who bought Georgie Boy, and asked if it might be a serious safety issue. They responded that they could not comment without seeing the coach.

Has anyone else experienced or heard of this problem?

Popping sound from the front area of Georgie Boy
by: Sonny

My 2000 Georgie Boy which I bought used makes that popping sound when I turn left or right and maybethe ground isn't real level. That is nothing more than where the nose or front of the motor home match up to the back section. The popping comes from the two Fibre glass sections rubbing. That is all it is.

Georgie Boy Problems
by: Dan

My wife and I have a 2001 Pursuit we bought in 07 with 26K miles. We now have 46K miles and have had NOTHING but trouble. It is on the F53 chasis with the Triton V10. The list of problems includes.

broken Kwikee step (replaced)
house plumbing leaks
broken house water pump
coroded exterior lights (replaced numerous)
cracked and broken dash (due to vibration and rough ride)
broken speedometer (see above reason)
broken wipers (several times)
bad radiator hose clamps (caused bad coolant leak)
headlight electrical problems (no low beam lights)
ABS sensor problems
loose cabinets caused by vibration and harsh ride

This list does not include the regular maintenance work I have done including the addition of a steer safe stabilizer, new house and engine batteries, oil changes, etc.

I came across this posting trying to find the cause of vibration and harsh ride that is tearing the coach apart. We are soon going to have to stop taking long trips. I am a mechanical engineer and do all of my own repair/maintenance work. We could not afford all the work otherwise.

the only good thing about our coach is the V10. It has a ton of power. It runs smooth, quiet, and strong at 46,000 miles.

Noise at front of Georgie Boy CruiseMaster
by: Dave Hanson

I have had a 1996 Georgie Boy CruiseMaster for several years, and it makes the same popping noise the entire time I have owned it.
The noise is coming from where the two windshield halves join together. Other than being annoying, it doesn't seem to hurt anything.
