How Can I Repair The Lift System On My Pop Up Camper?

ANSWER: Greetings James thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

First let me tell you a good place to start in finding the parts for your Flagstaff trailer. In 1994 the Flagstaff Trailer was manufactured by a company by the name of Cobra. In 1995 Forest River RV assumed production of these trailers.

Once you determine what parts you need to do the repair you should contact Forest River RV's Tent Campers Parts Department at (574) 642-2640 Ext. 127 and they should be able to tell you where to get the parts you need.

Since I do not know exactly what is causing the problem with the lift system on your pop-up, I will be hard pressed to tell you how to repair it.

There is a great website called the Pop Up Portal that is dedicated to pop up trailers it also has a forum you should join. If I were you I would do a forum post detailing the exact problems you are having with your trailer and I am sure that some of the forum members will be able to help you determine exactly what the problem is with your pop up trailer.

Ii have a 1996 flagstaff poptop the main winch cable is broken and i dont know how to fix itit seems as though the cable runs to the back of the van around a pulleh and back to the harness plate where i think it connects to ??? The plate has weld tacks and 4 small nuts and bolt on each end , where the plate is connected to the two lifting conduit cable holders do i have to take apart the harness plate to reconnect the main cable to the 4 lifting mechanisms somehow ihave started to take it apart but stopped before i do something i may regret .your advice is what i need on this enigma wiyh many thanks rich peck
