How Can I Stop My RV From Swaying While Going Down The Road?

by Jimmy O
(Savanna, OK)

I have a 1986 24' Minnie Winnie Motorhome, with a 350 CID engine. it has a swaying problem. not too bad when not pulling my Ranger pickup, but when I hook the tow dolly up with my truck, it gets pretty bad. I'm sure the shocks are worn out, will replaceing shocks fix the problem? or is there a better fix to it? I am somewhat of a home mechanic. thank you.

ANSWER: Greetings Jimmy O thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

The first thing I would do is replace the shocks and see if it handles better. The ultimate solution may be installing an Anti-Sway system on your RV.

For more information on RV Anti-Sway Systems you should read the answer I gave to this question How Can I Improve The Handling Performance Of My RV?

I hope this information will be helpful to you.
