How Do I Manually Open And Close The Slide Outs On My 5th Wheel Trailer?

by Jack
(Aransas Pass, Texas)

Can you tell me how the over ride system on the slide outs work on a 2007 Fleetwood 5th wheel. In case there is no electric. They told me it could be done manually.

Thanks Jack

ANSWER: Greetings Jack thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Slide outs are manufactured by different companies and they vary by type. Some slide outs are mechanical and others are hydraulic. I am not sure what brand and type slide out you have on your 5th Wheel so I cannot tell you how to manually open and close it.

You first need to determine what type of slide out you have and who makes it. If it so happens that your slide out is a hydraulic slide that was made by Lippert Components then read the answer I gave to the question below to find out how to manually open and close it.

If it was made by any other manufacturer you need to reach out to the manufacturer to get the information you need to manually open and close the slide. Your other alternative is to contact the people that you bought the 5th Wheel from and have them walk you through the steps of opening and closing it.

Sorry I could not be of more help.
