I Am Nervous About Turning On The Hot Water Heater In My RV

by Jo
(Ohio)

I recently bought a 1989 coachman Catalina. I am just a new rv'er...and not sure how to turn the hot water on. Where we are camping, we are hooked to city water..I do have propane. and I do know that there is a switch by the sink that you turn on ...But I am nervous about it. Can you help me and walk me through step by step on what I need to do.

Thank you

ANSWER: Greetings Jo thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Well Jo there is nothing to be nervous about. What I would suggest that you do before you turn on the water heater is to do some routine maintenance on it to make sure it is ready to be turned on.

Below is a video from RV Expert Mark Polk from RV Education 101, it gives you the proper steps to maintain your Water Heater.
