Check Your Fifth Wheel Hitch Pins When Parked In Public Areas

by Steve
(Topeka, Kansas)

Check the pins on your fifth wheel hitch after you go into a store. It seems that the teens think it is funny to pull the pins out then watch you drive off and dump the hitch and camper on your tailgate. I put a role up Tonneau Cover on mine and they can't see it when I'm not hooked up, but if I'm hooked up I always check the pins when I come out of a store or anywhere we sit in public.

5th wheel hitch pins
by: Barque

When hitched up, I don’t rely on the OEM pins for the latch or hitch bed pins. I found a master locks with a long enough shackle lengths and the rig is then locked to the truck.
