How Do I Start My Own Website So My Friends And Family Can Follow My RVing Adventures?

I'd like to set up a travel site so family and friends can follow our adventures on the internet. Can anyone give me some tips on how to do that?

ANSWER: Hi John there are a couple of ways of sharing your RVing Adventures with friends and family and any other folks that would be interested in your travels. The first is to start your own Blog using Google's Free Blogger Program or you can do like I did and start your own website and earn a good supplemental income like I do.

I started this website when I retired as a hobby so I could share my RVing knowledge with other RVers and also to keep busy while RVing and I had no idea that my website would become so popular.

After two years according to Alexa Internet Rankings, Everything About RVing is now in the top 5% of all the websites on the internet. I am ranked higher than a lot of large RVing websites run by major companies and I do this all by myself with the tools and training provided by SBI.

By the way, you do not need any fancy computer equipment to manage your website. All you need is a computer with an internet connection (doesn’t even have to be broadband). Here is a little secret about some of the pages on my website, quite a few of them were done using my laptop with a Wi-Fi
connection at RV Parks while sitting next to the pool consuming a nice cold adult beverage (Beer).

Trust me when I tell you that I am not an expert in HTML or any other computer programming languages all I do is type my information into a little text box just like I am doing now to answer your question. When I am done I just hit a button titled "Build It" and SBI builds my webpage for me and puts in on my blog automatically, and automatically informs all of the major search engines that I built a new page so the search engines can show me on the results pages.

Solo Build It! Case Studies

They also have online tutorials that show you step by step how to build a successful website. They also show you how get people to find your website, how to monetize your website and a lot, lot, more. All of this for less than a $1.00 a day. If you want to get a better idea of what they do for one low price watch this video.

Sorry about rambling on about my website and SBI, but this is actually the first time that I have gotten to brag about the website and Site Build It.

Try Wordpress.com. It's free and easy to use. It's a blog not a website but it is much easier to use and you can add pictures.

Blog is a free easy way to go

Due to my work hours, I don't get to spend alot of time playing around with websites. I too wanted to share our RVing adventures with people/family and we started a BLOG using www.blogger.com. My wife maintains a blog for the family and offered to do one for our RVing trips. Trust me, if my wife can learn it, it must be easy!

If you want to see ours as an example , here is the website (we only have three posts since we just bought the RV at the end of last summer. This year we will be adding much more.:)
