How Do You Get To South Lake Tahoe In A 40 Foot Motorhome?

How would one drive from Fremont, CA to South Lake Tahoe in a 40ft Diesel pusher without the 29 miles of winding road at the end?

I know a lot of RVers in large motorhomes that travel to South Lake Tahoe all of the time and are able to negotiate the winding roads just fine. I am not aware of any alternate routes.
I will open this up to our visitors to see if anyone has any suggestions for you.
