How Do You Get To The Fuel Filter On A 2006 Diesel Itasca Meridian?

by Don
(Texas)

Had my motor home serviced, They could not get to the diesel fuel filter on the motor home

The motor home is a 2006 Itastic mederian
with a 350hp Cat motor. How do you get to the fuel filter.

ANSWER Hi Don, well, I have searched high a low to see if anyone is having this problem with a 2006 Itasca Meridian Diesel Pusher and I have found no one else that is experiencing this problem. I am going to assume that you did not have the servicing done at a Winnebago Dealer. If you did, I would take it back to them and have them tell you exactly what the problem is.

I cannot figure out any reason why the fuel filter cannot be replaced. If you had the servicing performed somewhere other than a Winnebago dealer, you could go back to where you had it serviced and have their mechanic call the service department at a Winnebago dealer and talk to one of their mechanics to find out the proper procedure for replacing the fuel filter.

If this was a problem with this particular year and model, I would have found some complaints about it.

I am sorry that I could not give much help to you on this issue, but it is really hard to determine what the problem is here without physically looking at your rig.

DEISEL FILTER
by: RV TECH

SOME DEISEL UNITS REQUIRE TWO FILTERS, ONE LOW THAT IS USUALLY EASY TO REACH, AND A SECOND HIGH ON THE MOTOR BEFORE THE INJECTOR LINES. tHE MAIN IS AFUEL WATER SEPARATOR, THE OTHER IS USUALLY A REPLACEMENT FILTER ONLY THAT HAS A REMOVABLE LID.
IF YOUR MANUFACTURER DID NOT GIVE A LARGE ENOUGH OPENING IN THE BEDROOM AREA, AND THE TECH WAS A BIGGER PERSON, THEY MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REACH FROM THE TOP OR FROM THE BOTTOM IF THEY WHERE USING AN OIL CHANGING PIT. I STRONGLY AGREE WITH AL, TAKE IT TO THE SHOP WHO SERVICED AND HAVE THEM SHOW YOU WHY IT WASN'T ABLE TO BE DONE.
THANKS TIM.
