How to Install a Vent Cover on Your RV

We have a 2005 Fleetwood Tioga SL. We have a cracked roof vent cover. We bought a replacement but no instructions. We need to know how to get the old one off and install the new one.

ANSWER: Hi Kelly when you say you need to replace the RV Vent Cover, I am assuming that you are talking about the type of cover that is pictured at the top of this page and not an RV Vent Lid which is part of the vent itself.

The installation is very simple and straight forward. The hardest part of the whole installation process is that you will have to get on the roof of your RV. If you are not comfortable with getting on the roof of your RV, you may want to get the vent cover installed by a Certified RV Technician.

Tools Needed

Pencil
Drill
3/16" Drill Bit
Adjustable Wrench

To make it even simpler; take a look at the video below by RVing Expert Mark Polk from RV Education 101 that walks you through the installation process.

Here are the Maxxair II Vent Covers that Mark refers to in the video.

I hope that this information has been helpful to you.
