I have a standard Jackknife sofa sleeper. To get more sleeping space, I would like to replace it with a traditional fold-out type sofa sleeper. It seems there are none.
Any ideas?
ANSWER: Hi Craig if you are talking about the old type hide-a-beds that you opened up to reveal a double or queen-sized bed with a thin mattress that you could feel a Pea under, then I would advise for comfort sake that you keep the jack-knife bed.
That being said; Flexsteel who manufactures furniture for RV's has a sofa called the Flex-O-Bed Sofa. It works just like a traditional sofa bed except when you open it up there is no lumpy thin mattress; instead it creates a platform that you can put a Standard Queen Size Inflatable Mattress
on.
