The Water Heater In Our RV Will Not Light

by Oliver Jackson
(Williamson WV)

When trying to light my heater in my 92 Coachmen Royal no gas is released into the burner....The electronic ignition sparks but there is no gas to ignite....The stove burners inside the camper work and the furnace also lights up, but no gas releases into the hot water tank burner...Could you tell me what the possible cause of this could be.

ANSWER: Greetings Oliver thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

There could be several causes of your problem including not properly maintaining the water heater. Below is a video from RV Expert Mark Polk from RV Education 101, it gives you the proper steps to maintain your Water Heater, if these steps do not help then you are going to have take your Motorhome in and have the water heater checked out by a Certified RV Technician.
