TV Sizes and Replacement Stereos for Older RVs

by Donna
(Bellville, Ohio)

I am buying a 1998 Pace Arrow Vision 36B 1 slide and the rear TV is out can you tell me what size it is and what is good to replace it with. Also is there iPod units or Sirius/XM units that can be bought to replace the current radios.

ANSWER: Greetings Donna thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

I am afraid that I cannot tell you the exact size of your existing TV, but I can tell you that a lot of RVers have replaced their existing RV TVS with LCD TVs. It is important that you install an LCD TV in your RV as opposed to a Plasma TV, read the answer I gave to Should I Put A Plasma or LCD TV In My RV? (link opens in new window) to find out why.

Installing an LCD TV in an RV is really not that complicated, however, you may have to do some modifications to your existing TV Cabinet or install a TV Mounting Bracket. For more information on installing a new TV read the answer I gave to How Do I Install An LCD TV In My RV? (link opens in new window).

As far as radio replacements there are all kinds of Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Receivers that will work well in your RV. Depending on your skills, you may want to get a professional radio installer to install the receiver in your RV.

As far as your iPod is concerned there are iPod Accesories available that will allow you to play your iPod through your RVs radio system (even the radio you have now)

I hope this helps.
