Is there anything I can do to repair or tighten
the sofa sleeper so it does not sag and hit the frame?

You have a couple of options to remedy your sagging Sofa Bed
The first option is to check with some of the reupholstery shops in your area and see if they do sofa bed repairs. I cannot tell you how much this would cost, but at least you can get an estimate to see if it is worth repairing it.
