What Is The Best Awning For a Truck Camper?

All About Truck Camper Awnings

All About Truck Camper Awnings

We just purchased an older slide in camper (1991) that appears to be in really good shape, however, it has not ever had an awning. We would like to install an awning on the side of the camper. What are the biggest issues to be aware of during installation and where might we look for the best product for the money? I am a fairly mechanically inclined individual, but is this a project that is best left to the professionals.

The last thing I want is to start a leak or damage the exterior of my unit. By the way, the slide in, is a 1991 Starcraft 1050 Fleetstar. Your input is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Rob Roper

Carefree Freedom Patio Awning

ANSWER: Hi Rob when it comes to Truck Campers there is not a vast array of Awnings available as there are for Travel Trailers and Motorhomes. In my opinion your best bet would be a Carefree Freedom Patio Awning (pictured above).

These awnings and a lot more are available on CampingWorld.com. If you choose Camping World, they can also install the awning for you.

If you want to install the awning yourself you might want to read the eHow tutorial "How to Install a Camper Awning".

I hope this helps.

Awning for 1997 Lance squire 165
by: Betty

Help! I can't find an awning for my back door of my 1997 Lance Squire 165 Camper. The ladder is in the way and there doesn't seem to be a place to mount it. I can't even find rear awning on line....
Any ideas? Please?
