Why Is The Starter Battery On My RV Constantly Going Bad?

by Lee
(Jacksonville , Florida)

I Have 1990 Bounder w/460 ford engine (one ton). I have used DieHard batteries for many years and they only last around 6 months.

When I go to replace them I am told something is wrong with my RV but no one knows what. I have changed out the alternator, cables, wiring relay etc and nothing works.

I just replaced the battery again and when I tried to put the negative cable on it sparked bad! I did notice that when I first tried to start the rig I had to try the aux start button which tried to turn over the engine with the key off which it never did before also when I used the kill switch to the main battery it still sparked when I again tried to connect the neg cable.

Can you please help

Granma Lee
